“It will be an unforgettable evening, we will sing and dance. And there’s no need to worry, a mobile intensive care unit will be waiting for us near the stage,” joked Amir Fryszer Guttman at a press conference held in February 2016. This was part of the festive announcement of Hi-Five’s – Israel’s first and most successful boy band, founded 20 years earlier – anticipated reunion show,
But a few days before the scheduled date, Amir was diagnosed with lymphoma, and the show was canceled.
This was the beginning of a personal and public rollercoaster ride, at the end of which – a year and a half later – Amir would meet his tragic death.
In the 3 part series by director Tzipi Bader, who also documented Amir in real time after he was informed that he *did not have cancer* – it turns out that the dramas of his life began much earlier.
Using rare archival materials, personal diaries and intimate conversations with those closest to him – the series outlines the complex character and the turbulent life of an artist who always wanted to leave a mark. And he did.
